The Center’s Blog: “With A Trace”

Dr. Camron Michael Amin’s introduction and interest in Iranian studies was born from his own biography as the child of an Iranian father and American mother who met at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he was born.

Dr. Sonja Moghaddari’s own experience as a second-generation German Iranian sparked her interest in understanding the experiences and perspectives of others like her who were born to Iranian immigrant parents.

Dr. Maghbouleh's book "The Limits of Whiteness: Iranian Americans and the Everyday Politics of Race" traces the history of race among Iranians in diaspora and for many of us it’s a breath of fresh air to read.
